September 21, 2025 – New York, NY – Diamonds Do Good (DDG), the global nonprofit dedicated to celebrating the positive impact of natural diamonds in communities around the world, is proud to announce that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved Marcus ter Haar as the incoming President-Elect, effective January 1, 2026.

On the same date, Pete Engel, currently serving as President-Elect, will assume the role of President as Kathy Corey concludes her distinguished term. Marcus will step into the President-Elect role as part of DDG’s leadership succession plan, ensuring continuity and a strong foundation for the organization’s future.

“Marcus brings a wealth of experience, perspective, and heart to Diamonds Do Good,” said Kathy Corey, current DDG President. “His deep ties to Botswana and his commitment to sustainability and community development align perfectly with our mission of sharing how natural diamonds create positive impact.”

Marcus ter Haar has long been recognized as a respected voice in the diamond industry, with leadership spanning both public and private sectors. He has championed initiatives that highlight the diamond sector’s contributions to national development, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment, key themes at the center of DDG’s global work. He has also most recently served as Co-Chair of DDG’s Beneficiary Committee, where he helped guide the organization’s global grantmaking strategy and partnerships.

“I am honored to step into this role and continue building on the legacy of leaders like Kathy Corey and Pete Engel,” said Marcus ter Haar. “Diamonds Do Good represents the authentic, purpose-driven stories of how natural diamonds uplift communities worldwide. I look forward to working with the Board and our partners to amplify this message and strengthen our impact.”

As President-Elect, Marcus will support Pete Engel’s leadership while preparing to assume the presidency in January 2028, ensuring Diamonds Do Good continues to grow its grantmaking, storytelling, and partnerships across Africa, India, and other diamond communities.
